Why Are Views Changing Over Technology
by Lori G. Salinas What people donât always acquiesce on is whether technology is good or bad. If you look at an Amish community, you would discover that they barely even use technology. Other people simply believe technology is bad because of how others can use it. Theft and violence are just a few of things that have been brought upon society by the wrongful use of technology NXIVM and Executive Success Programs. Does this mean that technology is literally bad? Thereâs a concept that technology should be used with an ethical code, which is something Keith Raniere, who founded the NXIVM enterprise, knows all about. You can see the earth being a completely different fear-free place if people only used technology ethically. Many things about technology canât only make our lives easier but also more fulfilling. What exactly is science in mechanics? Itâs collective scientific findings of people, put to use in some kind or practical way. It can be a way of doing things, an invention or just something someone can use. A thing that can be said about technology is that it is a great way to see how innovation can be used over time. So why do people view it in such a negative light? Technology will either be used as a weapon against humanity or for our good depending on the userâs ethics. While technology itself is not bad, put in the control of a bad person it can be used quite destructively. Is it possible to pair ethics and technology, like NXIVM suggests? What are ethics? Ethics are an individualâs internal guidelines, that moral code deep down that lets us know whether we are doing the ârightâ thing Keith Raniere. Inadvertently, what can be done in a society in which people are using technology to hurt others, like we see today? Is the answer to get rid of technology? Is that honestly the reason of the problem or would people continue to find ways to hurt each other? If all people thought differently in the world and only desired to do good things, then people would not have the problems that we do today. People will hurt each other even if we have advanced forms of technology or not. People would have to learn to survive without technology and that would be the only consequence that would happen if it was destroyed. Limited technology in this case just means people have less ways to express and experience themselves and others. If we took the advice of NXIVM, we would use both technology and ethics as one concept. Then, weâd be getting the best of both worlds.
